How BrazilDesk Helps American Companies Save on Hiring
BrazilDesk originally grew as a boutique customer support and BPO company, helping international companies build teams and operate in Brazil. Over time, we began receiving consistent demand from US companies looking to recruit professionals directly in Brazil.
As this demand grew, we saw an opportunity to help American clients save between 40% and 60% on hiring costs through our Brazil-based recruitment service.
Why American Companies Are Hiring Professionals in Brazil
The answer is simple: strong cost per hire, qualified professionals, and less bureaucracy. Over the past five years, remote hiring has gone from an option to a go-to strategy for many US companies, and offshoring to Latin America has become an increasingly attractive choice. On top of that, geographic proximity matters, since the time difference between Brazil and the United States is typically just two hours.
How We Work With US Clients
American companies find BrazilDesk through one of our communication channels, whether it’s our website, social media, or referrals from other clients. The first step is understanding what the client needs and their timeline, followed by a brief but efficient call to align on initial requirements. If everything checks out, we move forward with a service agreement that defines all the details of the recruitment process.
BrazilDesk works on a flat-fee model, charging the client a single rate: 30% upfront and the remaining balance once the candidate is hired, or within a set number of days after the selection process is completed. Once we begin sourcing and interviewing candidates, we screen through hundreds of applicants and deliver a shortlist of 3 to 6 excellent candidates for each position. We also source candidates from other Latin American countries when needed. Our focus is on hiring skilled professionals who can deliver strong results remotely. We also provide a 60 to 90 day replacement guarantee in case the hired candidate leaves the company or runs into any issues.
What About English Fluency? Are Brazilians Really Fluent?
When a US company is hiring for a customer service role, for example, verifying the candidate’s fluency becomes even more important, so we conduct a video interview to let the client make that judgment call directly. That said, some roles only require a stronger accent or solid professional English, depending on the position and each company’s specific needs. It’s worth noting that we regularly find candidates in Brazil with excellent English, many of whom have lived and worked for American companies before.
How the Cost Savings Work
The savings are significant and easy to calculate. For example, if a company is looking to hire a Junior or Level 1 IT professional, here’s what an American company can expect to save:
| US cost (salary + taxes/benefits) | ~$4,500/month |
| Brazil cost (independent contractor hire) | ~$1,500–$2,000/month |
55%–65%
This same math applies across many other roles and industries, including customer service, developers, tech professionals, analysts, and more.
BrazilDesk’s focus is building a bridge between skilled Brazilian professionals and serious American companies, not just those looking to cut costs or find cheap labor, but those ready to expand and grow beyond North America.
